Yoko Ono needs your broken crockery
Turner Contemporary is continuing to collect any unwanted or broken crockery. The unusual request is on behalf of Yoko Ono whose work Mend Piece for Merry England features in Turner Contemporary's Far West exhibition currently open at the Project Space.
Taking part in Yoko Ono's Mend Piece for Merry England
Yoko Ono came to prominence as an experimental artist and musician during the 1960s. Her conceptual artworks often take the form of performances or simple instructions that can be enacted by the audience. For this work, visitors to the exhibition are invited to create their own sculpture out of the donated crockery. These sculptures will remain on display in the exhibition and, in exchange, anyone that joins in and makes a sculpture will receive a symbolic gift from Yoko Ono.
If you have any broken or unwanted crockery, please take it to the Turner Contemporary Project Space on Margate High Street from Tuesday to Sunday, 10am-5pm.
Everyone is then invited to visit the exhibition until Sunday 4 January to create their own unique artwork.
